Hui E! Community Aotearoa held a series of four topical webinars designed specifically for the tangata whenua, community and voluntary sector in March 2021.
1. TIER 3 AND 4 CHARITY REPORTING – IS IT WORKING?
Each year registered charities prepare their performance report as the year ends. Five years ago, new reporting standards for Tier 3 and 4 charities were introduced. Now it’s time to share what works, what doesn’t and what needs to change.
2. CHARITIES LAW REFORM – WHY IT MATTERS
The Charities Act 2005 review is being restarted. Over 360 submissions were received before COVID hit our shores. Most agreed that charities reform is needed to ensure the Act meets the needs of our charities. Why do these changes matter?

3. WHERE TO FIND SUPPORT AS A NON-PROFIT CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Non-profits in Aotearoa New Zealand continue to face extraordinary challenges. At the forefront of this mahi is the Chief Executive. They are a crucial link in how organisations successfully navigate these tough times. But it’s easy to feel isolated and lonely. Where can they find support?
4. WHY IMPROVING THE COMMUNITY/ GOVERNMENT RELATIONSHIP MATTERS
The community sector saw so many positive things in the way government responded to COVID-19 – easier access to funding, less onerous application processes, faster decision making, higher trust relationships. If we do nothing to improve community and government relationships long-term, then we’ll carry on until we have another crisis and have to relearn the COVID lessons all over again. What needs to change and why?
