Charities Act Kōrero & Feedback Hui
Five changes have been submitted to New Zealand Parliament for the Charities Act Amendment Bill. These changes are now at Select Committee level where community groups and individuals can provide feedback. Hui E! Community Aotearoa will be drafting a joint submission on behalf of a collective of community groups. This will save you time drafting your own submission.
Hui E! will be holding two online hui this month for community groups to discuss the proposed Charities Act amendments and draft a response. Our first hui will be on Thursday, November 10 from 7pm – 8.30pm. Our second hui will be on Thursday, 24 November from 7pm – 8.30pm.
Your organisation can also make your own submission.
What’s happening?
- Join our first webinar to understand what changes are being proposed. Provide your feedback at the hui.
- Hui E! will then draft a joint submission.
- Join our second webinar to review the drafted submission and make any final changes. Add your community group to the joint submission.
- Hui E! will send the joint submission to the Select Committee by 9 December on behalf of the community groups.
Why should our community group join this hui?
This is an excellent opportunity to have the voice of your community group heard and be part of influencing change of the Charities Act amendments. Provide feedback, have your community group’s voice heard, and we will add that into a joint submission.
