Launch of Play Kindly App
Launch of Play Kindly App: to help Pacific parents and prospective Pacific parents respond appropriately and effectively to aggressive behaviour in young children.
‘Play Kindly’ is an animated App game developed from Dr Esther Cowley-Malcolm’s PhD thesis at Victoria University in 2013. The research has since been translated into a collaborative project with Oscar Kightley and Ali Cowley to produce an evidentially based, Pacific Island related, interactive, animation App game called ‘Play Kindly’. The team has taken the theory and research and turned it into an applied learning tool, with Ali’s creative animation and Oscar’s scriptwriting expertise. The purpose of the App is to help Pacific parents and prospective Pacific parents respond appropriately and effectively to aggressive behaviour in young children.
The project’s team of advisors; Clinicians, Pacific parents and Pacific Public Health researchers have helped the team put the App scenarios together to depict real life situations and ensure that the strategies in the App are based on sound research and evidence.
More information can be found at the ‘Play Kindly’ Facebook page here.
